Return to Center: A Retreat for PBC Alumni

How do we make a bigger impact in the world? How can coaching make a real contribution as we face into this challenging moment in time? When’s the last time you took time out to have space held for you, so you could feel nourished as you hold space for others?

Coaching can be a lonely endeavor! We invite you to get away to the mountains of western NC and reconnect with yourself, your fellow coaches and the beautiful land that helped birth this work.  To make a greater difference “out there,” we need to journey “in here.”

Take time with us and as a community to reflect on your coaching skills and learn some new ones. Re-energize your grounded presence and re-emerge with your tank filled and your heart renewed.  Experience the joyful connections within your PBC community of practice that holds you in your development as a coach and a human. Come ready to move and be moved!

Join us at Bend of Ivy Lodge Aug 19-21, 2024 as we re-imagine who we want to be as coaches in these turbulent times. As we consider what’s being asked of us as we envision our practice and those we serve from a place and space of resilience and inspiration.

By the end of this 3 day retreat, you will…

  • Feel renewed, energized and connected
  • Have new skills and fresh ideas of how to work with clients (even challenging clients!)
  • Feel nurtured and cared for in a sustaining environment
  • Have more clarity about who you want to be as a coach and what’s calling you at the frothy edge of your own development

Focus Areas Include:

  • Supervision: receive support in working with…
    • Clients who put you on your learning edge (so called “difficult or challenging clients”).
    • Knotty ethical dilemmas or boundaries.
    • Your individual coaching cases or particular situations that leave you feeling stuck.
  • Experiment with new ways to grow your self-awareness and presence as a coach so you can expand your effectiveness.
  • Invite different perspectives with fresh ways to learn and explore.
  • Time to bring in and work with the deeper questions.

Additional new teaching areas:

  • We will introduce a brand-new model we’ve created on Peer Coaching Supervision, complete with teachings and processes around it.  This will enable you to stay connected in community going forward while getting the support you need to move your coaching effectiveness forward.
  • We will bring in novel ways of working with Cultural Competency, to increase your capacity and confidence in working in and with differences in coaching.
  • We will offer updated and current thinking on the intersection of Coaching and Trauma

You will also receive:

  • Plenty of reflection and community time.
  • Activities on and with the land.
  • The chance to fully engage and network with a group of fellow PBC Alumni
  • Delicious, organic food prepared by Dava.
  • ICF CCEs – 20 hours (17 core competency, 3 resource development)
